Mental Health Week: five thematic days to transform the way we look, from 5 to 9 October
A comprehensive approach that addresses mental health from the perspective of the person, knowledge, spaces and the community
Five days to make visible the realities that are often rendered invisible and to advance towards more humane and connected models of care
From 5 to 9 October 2026, Parc Sanitari Sant Joan de Déu will hold a new edition of Mental Health Week, under the slogan "Perspectives that transform" — an initiative that has established itself as a leading space to reflect, share knowledge and make progress on the current challenges of mental healthcare.
With the desire to address mental health in all its complexity, the week is based on a key idea: it can only be understood and cared for from diverse, connected and person-centred perspectives.
Under this comprehensive and transformative approach, the week will be structured into five thematic days that will address mental health from different complementary perspectives:
- 5 Oct | Women and mental health: invisible wounds, visible voices
- 6 Oct | Intellectual disability and mental health
- 7 Oct | From research to clinical practice in mental health
- 8 Oct | Architecture and mental health
- 9 Oct | Community mental health
As in the 2025 edition, the programme will combine informative morning sessions with experiential activities in the afternoon, with the aim of bringing mental health closer to the community and fostering spaces for participation and awareness.
Five days to transform the perspective on mental health
Featured content will address key issues such as incorporating a gender perspective into mental health, new person-centred care models in the field of intellectual disability, the challenges of transferring research into clinical practice, the role of spaces in emotional wellbeing, and the evolution of the community model in mental health. A perspective that highlights that mental health is not only a clinical issue, but also a social, environmental and community one, and that it requires coordinated and humane responses.
With this initiative, Parc Sanitari Sant Joan de Déu reaffirms its commitment to mental health that is more humane, equitable and connected to the reality of individuals and the community. From making the invisible visible to transforming the way we care: a perspective that moves from the person to the community, from knowledge to action.
The full programme will be announced shortly. In the meantime, save the dates!
