Magic Line SJD brings together over 800 participants at Parc Sanitari Sant Joan de Déu
The inclusion of the Catalan Art Nouveau Route as part of Gaudí Year adds to the range of itineraries available and attracts new participants
Parc Sanitari Sant Joan de Déu in Sant Boi de Llobregat was one of the key starting points for Magic Line SJD 2026, with over 800 people taking part. The day went ahead as planned in spite of the high temperatures in a participatory and family-friendly atmosphere in keeping with this year’s tagline We are what we share.
The main new feature of this year’s event was the inclusion of the Catalan Art Nouveau Route, coinciding with the celebration of Gaudí Year. The itinerary took in iconic venues such as the Invisible Garden at Parc Sanitari and the Colonia Güell in Santa Coloma de Cervelló. Here, next to the Crypt, the CoralSalvana choir performed pieces including Els teus ullsby Alfred Garcia; Elefantsby Oques Grasses, and We go togetherfrom the musical Grease.
The first to set off were the people who picked the long trail towards Barcelona; the Llobregat Route. This 24-kilometre itinerary crosses the Agricultural Park and offers the chance to explore el Baix Llobregat's river landscape before finishing at the Montjuïc Fountains.
Huge turnout and a great show of solidarity
Across Magic Line SJD, over 12,000 people took part in the various routes organised throughout the region. The event involved nearly a thousand teams and hundreds of volunteers.
The initiative has raised over €350,000, which will be used to fund social and healthcare projects run by Sant Joan de Déu and partner organisations with the goal of enhancing the lives of vulnerable people.
