  • For the first time, there will be two collection points on the Parc Sanitari site in Sant Boi de Llobregat, for staff, users and the general public to make their contributions
  • They will be open from 5 to 10 November in the lobby of the Sant Joan de Déu Sant Boi Hospital and in the Mental Health cafeteria

Over the weekend of 7 and 8 November, Parc Sanitari Sant Joan de Déu will take part for the first time in the Great Food Bank Collection. Two food collection points will be set up on the Sant Boi de Llobregat site: one in the lobby of the Sant Joan de Déu Sant Boi Hospital and another in the Mental Health cafeteria.

The Parc Sanitari is taking part in one of the country's most important charity campaigns, helping to ensure that everyone has access to sufficient, healthy and decent food.

The collection points will operate from 5 to 10 November, and donors are recommended to bring basic foods such as rice, cans of preserves, powdered milk for babies, etc.

This initiative reiterates the Parc Sanitari's commitment to solidarity and social inclusion, strengthening its links with projects to guarantee decent food for everyone.

José Luís Argudo, Director of Solidarity Development and Cooperation at the Parc Sanitari, comments that “we are fully aware of the difficulties of running charitable projects and maintaining them over the years, and of how important it is to receive help and support from other institutions and organisations linked to the social sector.” That is why “we have responded to this appeal from the Food Bank.”

Argudo explains that "Solidarity, as we understand it at Parc Sanitari Sant Joan de Déu, must go beyond the situations that we deal with on a day-to-day basis," adding that "collaboration, networking and joining forces with other organisations in the region that support such initiatives are key to improving the lives of vulnerable people."

As well as contributing food products, you can also help by making a financial donation, shopping at the virtual supermarket, or being a volunteer.

Action to combat food poverty

The Great Food Bank Collection mobilises thousands of people every year with the same goal: ensure that everyone has access to sufficient, healthy and decent food.

Over 300,000 people, including volunteers, organisations, companies and members of the public, are participating in the 17th food bank collection to make this great charitable campaign possible. Thanks to the support of more than 12,200 volunteers at 2,000 collection points around the region, the Great Food Bank Collection is now established as one of Catalonia's most important demonstrations of solidarity.
