The 2025 'Firefighters with a Cause' project has achieved €119,539 in funds raised—a new record that surpasses the previous year's total.

With these funds, seven social projects from Sant Joan de Déu will be financed, along with two research scholarships on childhood diseases and various social projects supporting vulnerable children.

The 'Resilient Childhood' project, led by the Parc Sanitari Sant Joan de Déu, has received €12,000 from the 2025 'Firefighters with a Cause' solidarity initiative. The purpose of the 'Resilient Childhood' project is to ensure access to essential resources—such as transportation, food, medication, educational scholarships, and housing support—for families with children facing social and economic vulnerability.

The 2025 'Firefighters with a Cause' project has achieved €119,539 in funds raised, a new record that surpasses the previous year's total. With these funds, seven social projects from Sant Joan de Déu will be financed, along with two research scholarships on childhood diseases and various social projects supporting vulnerable children across different Sant Joan de Déu centres.

The official check presentation ceremony took place during the unveiling of the 2026 edition of the 'Firefighters with a Cause' calendar.

15 Years of Solidarity Calendar

The Minister of Interior and Public Security, Núria Parlon, presented the new calendar edition and handed over the checks from the prior year's collection. The event was attended by the Director General of Fire Prevention, Extinction, and Rescue, Tamara García; the Deputy General Operational Director of the Generalitat Firefighters, David Borrell; the Director of the Sant Joan de Déu Social Work, Juanjo Ortega; and the Director of the SJD Research Institute, Joan Comella. Also present were representatives from the Generalitat Firefighters, Barcelona Firefighters, Andorra Firefighters, and Aran Firefighters—who all participate in this solidarity effort—as well as families and children featured in the 2026 calendar.

The central theme of the 2026 calendar is "bonds": those connections formed between firefighter teams and the children cared for at Sant Joan de Déu. The photo sessions were conducted throughout the summer in various locations, with the selfless participation of renowned professional photographers who have elevated the calendar's image quality.

Since 2011, the 'Firefighters with a Cause' project has raised a total of €1,035,375, primarily through calendar sales but also via other initiatives like the FestaVal d'Esparreguera and, notably, the Vertical Montserrat solidarity race, among others.

Where to buy the calendar

The solidarity calendar is priced at €10 and available at various stalls set up by firefighter corps in multiple towns, at fire stations themselves, in select shops, small businesses, and collaborating organisations, at participating Sant Joan de Déu centres, and through the Sant Joan de Déu Social Work online store.
