Grup Plana joins SOM GARRAF to help people with mental health disorders

The Plana mobility group has committed to contributing 75,000 euros to the project, distributed over three years, in an agreement it has signed with theSocial Work of Saint John of God and the Sant Joan de Déu Health Park

Plana Groupwill help finance the strategy being carried out by theSaint John of God Health Parkto guarantee accessibility to mental health services for all citizens of Garraf, improve adherence to treatment plans and meet the needs of social groups in situations of social vulnerability. With this aim, The Plana mobility group has committed to contributing 75,000 euros to the project, distributed over three years, in an agreement it has signed with theSocial Work of Saint John of Godand our institution.

The Garraf region is made up of many urban centers distributed over a large territory. In order to address this uniqueness, Home care is offered from the Sant Joan de Déu Health Parkintensive, through multidisciplinary teams, to patients who are at greater risk of abandoning treatments and require closer monitoring. They also offerfinancial aid to cover thetransportation expenseto those people, with few resources, when they detect that this may put them at risk of joining the activities defined in the treatment plans.

On the other hand, The financial contribution will also be used to finance aid for the basic needs of those people served without resources in the region.: medical aid (medication, dental, orthopedic or glasses treatments, among others) and housing aid (rent, temporary stays, supplies, etc.).

The signing ceremony of the agreement took place at the Garraf Day Hospital, where the managing director of the Sant Joan de Déu Health Park participated,Sebastian J. Santaeugenia; the president and deputy director of Grup Plana,Josep Albert VallcorbaandGloria Vallcorba and the director of the Sant Joan de Déu Social Work,Juanjo Ortega, accompanied byJose Luis Argudo, director of Solidarity Development, Patient Management and Citizen Care andAnna Mané, assistant to the director of Mental Health, both of the SJD Health Park.

The projectWE ARE GARRAFborn from the involvement of the SJD Health Park with people and the territory, a commitment that is reinforced with the construction of the new CSMA from Garraf to Vilanova i la Geltrú, started in early 2025.

This new device will represent a significant improvement in the care provided to users in the area, who will have a renovated and shared community space, following the anti-stigma and humanization criteria that, from the Sant Joan de Déu Health Park, are being applied in all the institution's new buildings.
