You need to register beforehand and it is separate from registration for the morning sessions

Parc Sanitari Sant Joan de Déu is hosting four experiential and participatory workshops as part of Mental Health Week 2025, which will be held from 6 to 10 October under the tagline “Five days, five challenges: how to face the future of mental health". The programme covers five key areas which are discussed in the morning sessions: young people, families, sport, research and how to prepare ourselves for managing uncertainty.

On Monday, 6 October, the “Des-nudos” Film Forum will be held where a documentary by Sant Joan de Déu about young people and mental health will be screened followed by a discussion led by SJD Social Work. The documentary features seven intimate and personal conversations about life and the world as seen by seven young people with some kind of mental health problem. "Des-Nudos" gives voice to these young people and to those who support them and does so in an open, close and personal way with the aim of dismantling stigmas about mental health. The film forum will be from 3 pm to 5 pm in the Antoni Pujadas Auditorium at Parc Sanitari Sant Joan de Déu. You need to register beforehand here.

On Tuesday the 7th from 4 pm to 6 pm, there will be a workshop on the Co-Elna project "Motherhood and severe mental disorder: needs, issues and new challenges, a co-creative research project on mental health and motherhood”. This workshop aims to share learnings and experiences from the Co-Elna project, a joint initiative by women and mothers with personal experience in mental health, researchers and healthcare and social services professionals.

This is a co-creative research project, which means that everyone involved actively takes part in each step: deciding together what is worth studying, how to do it and what the results mean. This approach values the knowledge of people who experience a situation at first-hand and fosters more equal relationships between professionals and the public.

The workshop will be led by Laia Nebot, a social community research and projects technician at Salut Mental Catalunya; Alicia Mendo, a mother, mental health activist and member of the Sant Joan de Déu Mental Health Ethics Committee; Lin Chen, a pre-doctoral researcher at Parc Sanitari Sant Joan de Déu, and Victoria Espinosa, a post-doctoral researcher at Parc Sanitari Sant Joan de Déu. The workshop will take place from 4 pm to 6 pm in the RISE Building auditorium at Parc Sanitari Sant Joan de Déu. You need to register beforehand here.

On Wednesday the 8th and as a practical activity before the morning session on Sport and Mental Health, there will be a hands-on workshop on Nordic Walking for Mental Health: breathe, walk, connect. It will consist of a 4 km route done in groups. The meeting point is at 3.20 pm at the Antoni Pujadas Auditorium at Parc Sanitari Sant Joan de Déu. You need to register beforehand here to reserve Nordic walking poles.

On Thursday the 9th, after the session on Mental Health Research: personalised medicine for the future, which will have been held in the morning, an experiential tour has been scheduled to learn about innovative mental health research projects conducted at Parc Sanitari Sant Joan de Déu. Groups will be able to visit the Virtual Reality (Virtual Scape) projects, which reduce stress in prisons; Avatar Therapy, which improves symptoms in 90% of people diagnosed with schizophrenia; the PIPEP app, aimed at young people with psychotic disorders to help prevent and control the disorder, and the immersive experience rooms. The project exhibition will take place in groups from 3.30 pm to 5.30 pm in the RISE Building and the Sant Ricard Building at Parc Sanitari Sant Joan de Déu. You need to register here to be assigned to a visitor group.

All the workshops are free of charge, although you need to register beforehand using the specific form for each activity as places are limited. Registrations are separate from the morning sessions.

The event will conclude with a mental health organisations fair on Friday, 10 October, which is World Mental Health Day, from 4 pm to 8.30 pm, in Plaça de Catalunya, Sant Boi de Llobregat. In this case, you do not need to register.
