On 29 May the 4th Sant Joan de Déu Sant Boi Hospital Healthcare Conference will take place, in hybrid and face-to-face format, in the Parc Sanitari Sant Joan de Déu Social Centre Auditorium, with the theme 'Healthcare Processes and Advances in Research'.
In this, the fourth edition, the conference is modifying its initial format, opening to the participation of external audiences and giving a voice to professionals from other hospitals and institutions. They include Dr Montserrat Esquerda, paediatrician, psychologist and specialist in bioethics; and Ramón Escuriet, Director of the Catalan Health Service's Affective, Sexual and Reproductive Health Plan, who will make a valuable contribution to two of the three blocks that make up the programme.
A hospital with an outstanding record in perinatal care and care for the elderly
This year, the conference focuses on two key areas where Sant Joan de Déu Hospital in Sant Boi pursues excellence: care for the elderly and perinatal care, the two main themes that make up the first blocks in the programme. The main healthcare projects that the Hospital's services and units have worked on during the year will be presented with these two themes in mind, with a view to raising awareness of new techniques and improving knowledge of healthcare processes in these two areas.
Entitled 'Experiences and new strategies in our day-to-day work', the last block of the conference will deal with organisation by processes. The Hospital is moving in this direction and will show attendees how far this change in organisation is essential to improve efficiency and quality in patient care. This section will also include a selection of healthcare and research projects from different units and services.
Another novelty is that this edition will also include the main research projects carried out at the Hospital, given the importance that management of the Sant Boi de Llobregat centre gives to the integration of research and healthcare practice for advances in medicine and the continuous improvement of services.

The conference is in the process of obtaining accreditation from the Catalan Council for Continuing Education of Health Professions and the National Health System's Commission for Continuing Education. If you are attending in person, 24 hours before the event you will receive a QR code by email so you can accredit your identity when you arrive at the auditorium. If you wish to attend online, 24 hours before the event you will receive an email with a ZOOM link, so you can log in and follow the conference online. Connecting via ZOOM will count as accreditation.
