Over 800 professionals and students take part in a conference that underlines the essential role of nursing assistants
Under the slogan “CNA: one profession, one future”, the conference has emerged as a meeting point for discussion and recognition of the profession
Nine Parc Sanitari SJD professionals were involved in the conference as organisers and speakers
Hospital Sant Joan de Déu Barcelona was the setting for the CNA SJD 2025 Conference, an event organised by Parc Sanitari SJD, the SJD Teaching Campus and Hospital Sant Joan de Déu Barcelona. This edition, which brought together more than 300 attendees in person and another 500 online, has cemented its position as a venue for participation, discussion and recognition, showcasing the essential role of nursing assistants in the healthcare system.
The meeting championed the critical role of nursing assistants as a mainstay of healthcare quality, stressing the importance of continuous training and the development of key skills to tackle new challenges in the healthcare sector.
Four of the fifteen presentations, chosen from the 50 proposals submitted, were delivered by Parc Sanitari SJD nursing assistants. They spoke about their role in electroconvulsive therapy, managing dysphagia, safeguarding patient privacy and supporting families in the H-ICU.
The event also featured an inspiring talk “Living and working with joy” by populariser Victor Küppers. The event was wrapped up by Raquel Fabregat, Director of Nursing at Parc Sanitari SJD.
This first edition has cemented the conference as a meeting place and opportunity for professional growth and the intention is to continue holding it every year and maintain its status as a key event for nursing assistants.
