On 22 September, the SJD 2026 Conference for Nursing Assistants will take place in a hybrid format, featuring an in-person component at the Dr Antoni Pujadas Auditorium in Parc Sanitari Sant Joan de Déu, under the tagline “Training and innovation: growing our profession”.
Jointly organised by Parc Sanitari SJD, the SJD Teaching Campus and Hospital Sant Joan de Déu Barcelona, the event provides a venue for the entire nursing assistant community to come together, exchange ideas and learn through real-life experiences, best practices and opportunities for discussion.
Over the course of the conference, practitioners will be able to interact, share stories and explore the key role of nursing assistants in an ever-changing healthcare landscape, addressing continuing professional development, gaining new skills and innovation in care delivery and quality anchored in a humanised and safe approach.
Two of the conference’s thematic sessions will be set aside entirely for 16 short presentations by nursing assistant professionals from various centres. The two best papers will be chosen by vote and receive awards.
A new feature of this TCAI SJD 2026 Conference will be five hands-on workshops held at the SJD Teaching Campus. These afternoon workshops, each with a capacity of 25 people, are included in the main registration fee and will be led by professionals from Parc Sanitari SJD, Hospital Sant Joan de Déu Barcelona and the SJD Teaching Campus. They will explore topics such preventing dependency-related lesions, dysphagia, communication as a tool for discussion and the importance of debriefing and safety, and also demonstrate the key principles of safe practice through a clinical simulation of a patient admission.
Register by 16 September
To attend the conference, whether online or in person, you need to register here. Members of the three organising centres are eligible for a reduced registration fee. Campus students may attend the online session free of charge. Registration will remain open until 16 September.
The conference will be accredited by the Catalan Council for Continuing Education in the Health Professions (CCFCPS) and the National Health System's Commission for Continuing Education (CFCSNS). For more information, please refer to the conference programme.
