From this Monday, the entrance hall of Sant Joan de Déu Hospital in Sant Boi will be transformed thanks to the work of multidisciplinary artist Alberti Nei. During the week, the artist will work on STB.H, a collective project created with the participation of people treated in the Parc Sanitari Sant Joan de Déu Mental Health Network.
The work consists of a large pink canvas suspended in the air by wires and a wooden structure. The piece maintains the essence of Albertí's style, characterised by structures that explore the relationship between form, space and movement.
The creation of STB.H has involved the active participation of people treated in the Psychiatry Unit, from the Torrents d'Art collective, and the Sant Carles, Sant Ricard and Benito Menni clinics. Guided by Albertí, these people have contributed directly to defining the path followed by the canvas and expanding the space for collective creation.
The installation will remain in place until 31 August and marks the beginning of a series of activities forming part of the Parc's 7th Arts in Health Conference, which will take place on 8 May at the Dr Antoni Pujadas Auditorium.
In addition to this display of art work, the event will include other activities open to the public, such as Tastets d'Arts and the community dance show Five Days to Dance.
The installation will be inaugurated on 7 May at 12.30 p.m. and will be attended by Sant Boi Town Council's Councillor for Culture, José Manuel González Labrador, the artist, and professionals from the centre.
