Hospital SJD Sant Boi transforms the hospital discharge process with a new app
This mobility task app enables Hospital SJD Sant Boi to automate coordination between nursing, cleaning and orderly teams and thus shorten the time between the discharge of one patient and the admission of the next
This new app is already in use in the hospitalisation units for Geriatrics, General Surgery, Trauma and Orthopaedics, Urology, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Cardiology, Pulmonology, Gastroenterology and Infectious Diseases
A sequence of tasks is performed for the bed between the discharge or transfer of one patient and the admission of another: removing bedding, cleaning, preparing and readying the bed and moving in a new patient. These jobs are done by the nursing, cleaning and orderly teams at Hospital Sant Joan de Déu Sant Boi.
Until now, these tasks were coordinated by phone or in person, which made things less efficient because the person assigning the job often could not quickly get in touch with the person who was supposed to carry it out. This meant that nobody did anything about the room for a while.
The mobility task app has thus been rolled out with the aim of cutting the time between the discharge of one patient and the admission of the next by automating task management.
The new app connects the teams involved (nursing, cleaning and orderlies), improving coordination and shortening waiting times.
The mobility task app is already in use in the hospitalisation units for Geriatrics, General Surgery, Trauma and Orthopaedics, Urology, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Cardiology, Pulmonology, Gastroenterology and Infectious Diseases.
