During the first half of May, various cultural venues and community facilities across the region will host the second ART Tastings, a range of projects, methods and activities which enhance people’s wellbeing through cultural and community initiatives.
The purpose of ART Tastings is to showcase experiential activities which enable people to discover innovative Arts in Health approaches through workshops, visits, open rehearsals and group experiences. These activities encourage participants to explore how the arts can be harnessed as a means of promoting health and shared care.
ART Tastings also provide the chance to get an up-close look at projects which are often conducted outside mainstream cultural circuits.
The programme is free and open to everyone, and features eleven activities designed to introduce these projects to the public and interested practitioners alike. From 4 to 14 May, attendees will be able to gain first-hand insight into each initiative's working methods and impact.
The scheduled events include a dance workshop, an open rehearsal of a play, an introductory workshop on graphic medicine and an activity exploring the process of creating a video game geared towards fostering the social inclusion of children with autism.

ART Tastings are part of the latest edition of PERIPHERIES, a programme of activities organised by Torrents d'Arts, the Arts in Health programme at Parc Sanitari Sant Joan de Déu. Throughout May, this initiative seeks to raise awareness of the transformative power of the arts in health, particularly in mental health for socially vulnerable groups.
