We break stigmas through inclusive dance: Five days to dance is back
-
Throughout this week, over fifty people, including service users, professionals, volunteers and members of the public, are participating in the creation of an inclusive community show, under the direction of the De Loopers company.

The stage production will be presented on 15 May at 3:00 pm at the Church of the Sacred Heart of the Parc Sanitari Sant Joan de Déu (Sant Boi).
The inclusive dance project Five Days to Dance returns to the Sant Boi site of the Parc Sanitari Sant Joan de Déu this week for the second consecutive year. The initiative will culminate with the presentation of the show Oasi, which can be seen on Friday 15 May at 3:00 pm at the Church of the Sacred Heart.
From this Monday and over five days of intensive work, people cared for in different services of the Parc, professionals, volunteers and members of the public are participating in a collective creation process that aims to build a shared choreography based on diversity, inclusion and community work.
The rehearsals, which take place throughout the week, are guided by the dance-theatre company De Loopers, which specialises in participatory and educational artistic projects, led by the dancers Amaya Lubeigt and Wilfried Van Poppel.
Almost fifty people linked to different services and programmes of the Parc Sanitari are participating in this second edition: the Sant Jordi Occupational Centre, Sant Carles, the Recupera't unit, the UHEDI and the Torrents d'Art workshops, as well as educators, monitors, volunteers and external participants at the Parc.
All of them form a heterogeneous group that, in just five days, builds a shared stage piece through the body, movement and collective listening.
Five Days to Dance: much more than a show
Five Days to Dance is much more than a stage production. It is a community and destigmatising project that uses art as a tool for wellbeing, expression and social connection. The initiative creates meeting spaces for people with very diverse realities, fostering inclusion and focusing on the creative process over the final result.
In this edition, the show Oasi becomes a metaphor for this shared space of care, respect and coexistence. A meeting place where paths are created, a place of life open to everyone. A fertile space of peace and rest. A place where you can simply be. An OASIS of union, vibrant and moving, full of expressive strength and collective emotion.
With this new edition, the Parc Sanitari Sant Joan de Déu consolidates Five Days to Dance as one of the institution's most cross-cutting Arts in Health initiatives, aligned with the Torrents d'Art programme. The project has also established itself as one of the most outstanding activities of the Perifèries 2026 programme, along with the Tastets d'ART and the Arts in Health Conference held last week, placing arts and culture at the centre of the community and healthcare life of the Parc during the first fortnight of May.
