Research in nursing is essential to improve the quality of care, optimise health outcomes and ensure healthcare based on up-to-date scientific knowledge
On 3 April the 1st SJD Nursing Research Conference will take place, in hybrid and face-to-face format, in the Parc Sanitari SJD Social Centre Auditorium, in Sant Boi de Llobregat. Organised in conjunction with the SJD Teaching Campus and Sant Joan de Déu Hospital Barcelona, the conference aims to inspire nursing professionals and encourage them to actively participate in research.
This will be done through the promotion of evidence-based practice and the development of the profession, encouraging scientific dissemination and the exchange of knowledge among professionals. Research in nursing is essential to improve the quality of care, optimise health outcomes and ensure healthcare based on up-to-date scientific knowledge.
The conference will begin with an inaugural lecture given by Dr Mónica Vázquez Calatayud, Corporate Director of the Professional Development and Nursing Research Area at the Clínica Universidad de Navarra. The conference will feature three round tables where professionals from the three participating centres will present ongoing research projects led by nurses; the different models for organising nursing research in each institution will be presented; and professionals from the different centres will chair three presentations. The six projects presented at the first table will be eligible for three prizes awarded according to a public vote, the results to be announced before the end of the conference.
